"Captain Neutron?"

The story behind Captain Neutron starts in 1961.  I was at Submarine School in New London, CT.  My section leader had just come from Nuclear Power School and he couldn't pronounce Neuroth, so he started calling me Neutron.  (You notice the spelling is similar)  Pretty soon everybody in the class was calling me, "Neutron".    I figured that when I was transferred from sub school, I would lose the nickname, so I did nothing to stop them.  Well, when I was transferred, one guy from sub school went to the same sub as I did. Fairly soon everybody on the boat was calling me Neutron. Then every time I was transferred to go to another school or boat at least one person was sent there too, That's how I got stuck with the name Neutron.  When I started working in the civilian nuclear business in 1981, I was called Captain Neutron and so it is, I am Captain Neutron to this day.  Why one time, in 1986, when I was in Mexico  at a medium sized department store, a Mexican asked me if I was Captain Neutron.  I was flabbergasted, so I asked him how he knew my name.  It so happened that the year before, I was working the night shift at San Onofre Nuclear Plant at the main access control point to the Reactor Building, he also worked there, as an electrician.
So,
this is your bed time story for tonight, and every bit of it is true.
So help me, Chief!

Family Tree Info
In August 1999, I was surfing the web. Bong! My e-mail signaled me that I had email.  I looked at my email and it was a person who asked, what part of Neuroth family, I was.  I wrote back, that my branch of the family came to USA  in 1869, she wrote back and told me the names of the persons who came over.  We have been corresponding ever since and exchanging family tree information.  If you go six persons up on my tree branch and six persons up on her tree branch, we find the same ancestor.  My Fine German cousin is Melitta Geraerts.  Melitta has two sons, Ralf and Udo.  Ralf married Christel on 9.9 .99
(click here for photos of cousins)

The bad news is, Melitta passed away on 26 August, 2001
May she rest in Peace
